Dilyana Cholakova

Dilyana Cholakova graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Fashion from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. She is currently working as a stylist at the Bulgarian National Television.

During her studies she developed a strong interest in handcrafts, construction and transformations in clothing design. She experiments with unconventional materials, creating patterns and illustrations.

Characteristic features in her design are the complex constructions, the work with volume and soft sculptural forms intertwined with functionality, and deconstructive elements, emphasizing femininity.

Dilyana is one of the finalists in Sonya Yoncheva’s competition to create her stage costume for her concert with Placido Domingo on August 31, 2021 at St. Alexander Nevsky Square in Sofia. Her two diploma projects, “Salt of Life” and “Drawing Silence”, are included in the concept of the exhibition ARCHITECTURAL FESTIVAL – BURGAS 2021 and the exhibition “Lake Atanasovsko – Lagoon of life” at the Central Square in Burgas.
