Gergana Trukanova (Trukana Jewelry)
Gergana Trukanova holds a Bachelor’s degree in Metal from the National Academy of Arts and a Master’s degree in The Art of Glass in Design and Architecture from the New Bulgarian University. In 2017, she participated in the Erasmus + program and studied at the Academia di belle arti di Brera in Milan, Italy. She is currently working as a teacher of Artistic Metalwork at the National High School of Applied Arts “St. Luke”, and in the meantime is developing her own jewelry brand Trukana jewelry.
She works in the field of contemporary jewelry as her interest in this art originated in her school years. The main material she uses is silver, combined with accents of glass, in the form of melted glass rods. She also experiments with materials such as porcelain, wool, precious and semi-precious stones, and more. Her inspiration comes from natural forms and elements.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions, both in Bulgaria and in countries such as the United States, Italy, Poland, and Slovakia. In 2019 she made a solo exhibition “Directions” in Artspace Luna, Varna. She is taking part in the events of the Conceptual Design Platform Ivan Asen 22 since 2019.
