Velislava Bozhinova has completed her bachelor’s degree in Metalworks at the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria. After that she has successfully completed her master’s degree in Jewelry at the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Antwerp, Belgium. During her education she develops the idea of a piece of jewelry as an object, as a sculpture intended for the human body.
The main materials she uses in her works are ceramics, combined with different metals, as well as leather and fabrics. She prefers to use already existing objects, which she transforms, thus giving them a new life and a new meaning as pieces of jewelry.
Currently she works as a freelance Artist and Jeweler. During the last few years she has taken part in a lot of group jewelry exhibitions in Bulgaria, as well as in Romania, Spain, France, Germany. Moreover, she is an active participant in the design events of IVAN ASEN 22.
