Can fashion design and fine art exist as equal disciplines, jointly creating a new visual language? With our new project, inspired by contemporary visual art, we explore precisely this possibility – the mutual penetration, in which the boundaries between art and fashion blur to create a third territory: a field for experimentation, shared thinking and new forms of expression. Through this experimental platform, we provide an opportunity for two creative disciplines to meet – visual art and fashion design.
The first part of the project – the exhibition “5+5 / art+fashion” at Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art, brought together leading names – contemporary artists and designers, representatives of different generations and diverse directions in art and fashion design, in equal cooperation and author tandems, creating author installations in the Museum´s space.
From June 4 to July 19, 2026, the second part of the project will be implemented – the exhibition in the conceptual design platform “IVAN ASEN 22”, for which over 30 contemporary designers will create wearable clothing inspired by visual works of contemporary artists chosen by them.

Author jewelry on the theme will be created by Velislava Bozhinova, KIA FIL, Boryana Dankova and Five Seasons.
As a “new name” to the exhibition, Yoanna Nikolova (National Academy of Arts) is included, and the guest designer is the Austrian label for designer bags GLÜXWERK.
The event is partnered by BIODERMA, whose innovative product PhotodermXDefense Ultrafluid SPF50+ – the first detoxifying sun protection against the harmful effects of the environment, sun and pollution, will be added as a compliment to the clients of the first 20 designer models.
The opening on June 4th was supported by a welcome-drink by ROSALEA.
The interior design of the exhibition is created by Diliana Ivanova and Anelia Antova, and the graphic design is by Georgi Florov. Kalina Filcheva completes the team as social media manager.
