EARTH-To-WEAR

Nature is the greatest creator, and the variety of textures, shapes and color combinations that it creates are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for designers.

The focus of the topic is flora – the totality of all plant species: flowers, plants, trees, shrubs, grasses… Their life cycle and their different states and transformations according to the seasons is impressive. The attention will be summer – the season of their freshness, flowering, bright vibrant colors and aromas. They determine the color palette, in which green is necessarily present in all its possible shades, but also fresh pink, yellow, blue, white and their pastel watercolors.

The structures of the surface of plants, tree trunks, delicate or graphically prominent segments of leaves will be interpreted in three-dimensional textures of fine uneven pleats, overlays of transparencies, organic lines and fine engravings. The different species and their natural colouring will provide ideas for exquisite botanical or bold macro prints, gradients, graphic drawings, textured watercolors and photorealistic landscapes. The diversity in the shapes of plants, flowers, trees and their properties will inspire the development of multi-layered silhouettes, organic shapes, layering. We will see their interpretations in pleated textures, segments and transparent areas with embroidery and interlacing, resembling the veins of the leaf.

By returning to handmade techniques for creating surfaces or details through embroidery, knitting, inserting yarns, threads, beads, fringes, mixing them with prints and using natural fabrics such as linen, cotton, silk, we pay tribute to craftsmanship and the environmentally friendly creation of designer “slow fashion”. Dyeing techniques with natural materials, eco-printing and the reuse of materials through recycling and upcycling also contribute to this. The created designs must include at least one sustainable aspect: zero waste, recycling, upcycling, use of dead stock fabrics or those with a proven ecological production method, natural fabrics, eco-printing, dyeing with natural materials.
